University studies in viola da gamba

Since October 2003, Prof. Lorenz Duftschmid has been leading the concert class for viola da gamba at the State Music University in Trossingen / Germany. Here students can finish their Gamba studies with a Bachelor and Master of Early Music degree and / or a Master in Historical Double Bass & Violone. Interesting modules, projects and concert tours with the students primarily revolve around improvisation, 17th century, consort, baryton, arpeggione and scenic productions.

In April 2009, Lorenz Duftschmid was elected head of the Institute for Early Music at the State Academy of Music in Trossingen / Germany, and from 2011 to 2015 he also was speaker of the Department of Early Music.

It is recommended to contact Lorenz Duftschmid first because of the availability of free places. It is also recommended to visit one of Lorenz Duftschmid's workshops to get into contact to each other, f.i. , 07.-10. August 2023 in Bertinoro/Bologna, Italien.
